Selection click zones were a bit bigger than the circle in the corner - maybe any surrounding empty box space around the image selects it (with cmd/ctrl held down?), and selecting the image itself expands it to detail view (instead of the surrounding empty box space also going to detail view)
I would love to see the shift and cmd/ctrl modifiers work a little differently for complex selections: In a batch of 20 images, if I click image 1, hold shift and click image 5, then hold command and click image 10, then hold shift and click image 15, it should select images 1-5 and 10-15.
