Better cropping options for "All Galleries" thumbnails view and gallery cover photo.

I'm posting mostly galleries of headshots. The gallery cover photo requires a panoramic image which doesn't really work for headshots. Also, the "All Galleries" thumbnail view cuts off half of everyone's head. Am I doing something wrong or is this a feature that could help with that?
